Our 115,000-barrel-per-day oil refinery is located in Newfoundland, on Canada's extreme east coast. Our geographic position gives us unique access to petroleum markets in Europe and the U.S. eastern seaboard, and puts us in close proximity to crude supplies in Russia and the Middle East.
At North Atlantic, we've capitalized on innovations designed into our facility on the drawing
board back in the late 1960s. When our refinery was built in the early 1970s, oil was plentiful and easy to recover, so
installing clean fuel technology and one of North America's largest refinery docks at a
facility in Newfoundland seemed unnecessary. However, time has revealed the many benefits of
Our clean fuel Hydrocracker technology enables us to produce low-sulphur, clean fuels
from both high-sulphur medium grade crude and low-sulphur light crude, giving us the flexibility to refine crudes from many parts of the world, including the Middle East, the North Sea, and Texas.
While our achievements over the past 40 years are impressive, we continue to work towards the future and the more
challenging goals we've set for tomorrow.
